Standard Flowline for Trimming

  • Increased throughput and yield
  • More consistent quality
  • Labor saving
  • Traceability

Information

The Standard Flowline for Trimming is used for trimming small ground fish (haddock, Alaska pollock), farmed whitefish species (tilapia, pangasius, catfish) and small salmonids (rainbow trout).

The Standard Flowline for Trimming replaces a manual trimming system based on tables, conveyor or trays. It is designed to be part of an integrated processing solution, following the Standard Flowline for hand filleting.

Fillets are automatically delivered to operators on the top conveyor. After trimming, the final product is automatically released to the lower conveyor, while waste is discharged on the third conveyor.

Innova software collects production data, thereby also monitoring individual worker performance. The data is used to control the incoming and outgoing flow of raw material on the line, which includes the quality inspection process. It can also be used to track valuable KPIs or quality aspects, while providing real-time information on performance and yield.

Versions

In the integrated solution, the headed and gutted fish is first fed into the hand filleting Standard Flowline via hopper scales that register the weight of each batch delivered to individual operators.

Innova controls the distribution of batches to the operators according to their capacities and delivers real-time information on capacity and yield both of the line as well as on individual operators. Samples from the filleting line are automatically delivered to QC inspectors who keep track of defects and filleting quality of each operator.

Filleted fish pass through skinning and chilling before being automatically distributed to the individual trimming operators in small batches.

The workstations are designed with worker comfort and performance in mind and include manually adjustable platforms, water guns, knife holders and a data terminal which enables operators to monitor their performance, both individually and compared to the line average.
